Aurelio Fasoli (born 1958) is a Kaskivian economist and company director. He served as a commissioner of the Kaskivian Securities Commission from 2005 to 2012 and has been the independent non-executive chair of Meridian Trade Systems since 2015.
Career
Fasoli read economics at a university in San Branik and worked in the city’s bond market before joining the public service. He advised the parliament on the implementation of the Securities Act 1997 and was appointed a commissioner of the Kaskivian Securities Commission in 2005. During his term he chaired the Commission’s supervision committee and was involved in the conclusion of the 2003–2005 inquiry into high-frequency trading at Porta Franca.
After leaving the Commission in 2012, Fasoli served on the boards of listed financial and logistics firms. He was appointed chair of Meridian Trade Systems in 2015, where he leads the nomination committee and presides over the board that includes founder-chief executive Mose Lo Scalzo. His move from the regulator to the chair of one of the issuers it oversees is frequently cited by critics of the Kaskivian financial establishment as an example of the revolving door between the Commission and the market.
