Market Watch: grain prices ease after the Pologradska harvest
Wheat fell for a third week as the National Grain Trust slowed its buying.
Wheat on the Polograd exchange fell for a third week after the National Grain Trust slowed its purchases, easing the winter flour price but squeezing the smaller growers who sell outside the trust’s contract.
The trust took about a fifth less than its seasonal average, a shift traders read as a sign that its silos are near full. Distilleries and feed mills have picked up some of the slack. The krejt was little changed against the krun.
The Pologradska grain board has asked the trust to bring forward two shipments to make room for the coming crop.
