Bistrica taps run clear for the first winter since 2018
The city water board says filtration has held through the autumn; the catchment above Shaft 9 is still being monitored.

The Bistrica water board has told residents that tap water met the drinking standard throughout the past winter, the first full winter since the 2018 spill without an advisory notice.
The board credits a new activated-carbon stage at the city plant and the settlement of the upper catchment. It will keep monthly sampling at the Shaft 9 outfall and publish the results in the spring. The Council for Health has not closed its file on the spill.
The fishermen’s society said catches in the lower river remained well below their pre-2018 levels. SeverMin declined to comment.
