Maj Logistics wins the Kambel haulage contract

The five-year contract moves ore and finished steel between Novi Otonik and the lake wharves.

Maj Holdings has awarded its five-year ore and steel haulage contract to its own logistics division, Maj Logistics, the group said on Monday.

The contract covers the Novi Otonik yards and the lake wharves at Cetingrad, and replaces an interim arrangement run by a consortium of independent hauliers. Maj Logistics has subcontracted about a third of the routes back to local firms, on terms the hauliers’ association called “better than the last tender, which is not saying much.”

Vokamet’s Cetingrad works are not party to the contract, but share the lake wharves. The group declined to give the value of the award.
