Two Northfocus reporters refused press accreditation
The Media Licensing Authority declined the applications without giving reasons; the paper has written to the Council for Education.
The Media Licensing Authority has refused Assembly accreditation to two Northfocus reporters, the paper said on Wednesday, without giving reasons.
The authority told the paper only that the applications did not meet “standards.” The two reporters filed the recent Red Shore and Shaft 9 investigations. Northfocus has written to the Council for Education asking for the criteria applied.
The paper has covered the Assembly without accreditation since 2019, when the authority first tightened the scheme. Its editor, Jakov Iric, said the paper would send the reporters to the public gallery and continue to publish.
